Applications for electives at the Northern Clinical School

The Northern Clinical School welcomes applications from overseas and Australian medical students wishing to undertake elective periods.

Your application will be considered on the basis of your previous training and the capacity of the Clinical School to accept you. Only students in their final or penultimate year of study will be considered.

Electives at the Northern Clinical School are generally for a minimum of 3 weeks and a maximum of 8 weeks. While we do accept students for longer periods, long term placements are limited to only a few students each year. We do not accept students during the Christmas period, Mid-December to End -January. Electives of over 6 or more weeks may be split between 2 disciplines.

Owing to the large number of applicants we cannot accept students who have arranged placements at other institutions in Australia if the combined attachments exceed 8 weeks.
